Overview:

Install and repair heating, air conditioning, HVAC, and refrigeration systems, such as oil burners, hot-air furnaces, and heating stoves.

A post-secondary certificate is sufficient but not necessary.

Insulate system shells and cabinets.
To construct a refrigeration system, consult blueprints to establish the location, size, capacity, and kind of components required.
Drill holes on the floor and walls of the building and install mounting brackets and hangers.
Using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment, fabricate and assemble structural and functional components of a refrigeration system.
Customers are scheduled for work, and work orders, housing requisitions, and supply orders are initiated.
Using a hoist or a block and tackle, lift and align components into place.
Using hand tools and acetylene welding equipment, install the compressor, condenser, and other components in specific locations on the frames.
