Read the transcript or proof type setup for any grammatical, typographical, or compositional issues and flag them for rectification. Workers whose major responsibility is copy editing are not included. Braille proofreaders are included.

Job Responsibilities:

Create unique content for headlines, cutlines, captions, and the cover copy.
Using the internet and various computer tools, archive papers, perform research, and read copy.
To find inaccuracies, compare information or figures on one record to the same data on other records, or with the original copy.
Check references with grammar and composition norms by consulting reference books or enlisting the help of readers.
Correct or document any omissions, errors, or contradictions that are discovered.
Using typical printers' marks, mark copy to indicate and rectify problems in type, layout, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
