Overview:
A playwright / scriptwriter uses their creative mind to write stories for theater plays, movies, television shows and web series. They craft engaging narratives, write memorable dialogues, and structure plots that forms the foundation of any performance. Their work involves more than just writing, requiring them to work with directors, producers and actors closely to ensure that their vision comes alive in the most impactful ways. Scriptwriters deal with more technical aspects such as planning camera angles, editing sequences and pacing scenes for on- screen storytelling. Playwrights on the other hand, focus on crafting impactful dialogue and capturing the unique dynamics of live stage performances.
Career Path:
There is no fixed stream for pursuing a career as a Scriptwriter/Playwright. However, if a person wants to teach scriptwriting at a college or university, they need to pursue a Master’s degree in Creative Writing, Screenwriting or any related field after completing their undergraduate studies.
