Overview:

Drive pilings for retaining walls, bulkheads, and foundations of structures such as buildings, bridges, and piers using pile drives mounted on skids, barges, crawler treads, or locomotive cranes.

Job Responsibilities:

To engage power hammers or raise and lower drophammers that drive piles to specified depths, move levers and turn valves.
To position piling leads, hoist piling into leads, and position hammers over pilings, move the hand and foot levers on hoisting equipment.
Using heavy machinery with a pile driver head, drive pilings to provide support for buildings or other structures.
Equipment should be cleaned, lubricated, and refilled.
Perform pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure that it is in working order.
