Job Responsibilities:

To make refractory mixtures, combine specific proportions of sand, clay, soil, or mortar powder with water.
To determine specifications and calculate the materials needed, interpret blueprints and drawings.
Wire clamps, anchor holes, a torch, or cement can be used to fasten or fuse brick or other building materials to a structure.
Apply the mortar or other mixture on the work surface and smooth it out.
Using a broom, wire brush, or scraper, clean the working surface to remove scale, dust, soot, or brick and mortar chips.
Examine the brickwork of the building to see whether it needs to be repaired.

Work Life:

Work a 40-hour week on a regular basis.
