Overview:
Feed, water, groom, wash, exercise, or otherwise care for pets and other non-food animals, such as dogs, cats, racing horses, decorative fish or birds, zoo animals, and mice. Work at kennels, animal shelters, zoos, circuses, and aquariums, among other places. Feedings, treatments, and animals received or released may be recorded. Cages, enclosures, and fish tanks may be cleaned, disinfected, and repaired.

This career has no set academic requirements to become an animal care assistant, although some employers do ask for qualifications such as 10+2 clear or their equivalent.
