Overview:
Teach or instruct out-of-school teenagers and adults in basic education, reading, English as a Second Language, or high school equivalency classes.
Career Path:
After a degree and a master degree, the candidate should apply for SLET (state eligibility test for lectureship) or NET (National eligibility test) examinations to qualify for a PhD. An average of 4-6 years is required to complete a PhD depending on the program design, study subject and institution.
After clearing the NET exam, the candidates who apply for the M.Phil/PhD programme are given an award called JRF(junior research fellowship), which is for 2 years along with a monthly stipend. Post 2 years they are promoted as senior research fellow based on their performance the fellowship can get extended to three years also.
