Examine, analyse, and interpret accounting records in order to generate financial statements, provide recommendations, or audit and evaluate other people's financial statements. Install or provide advice on cost-recording or other financial and budgetary data systems.

Job Responsibilities:

Determine unemployment insurance premiums, workers' compensation coverage, obligations, and tax compliance by auditing payroll and personnel data.
To ensure that records are accurate, inspect cash on hand, notes receivable and payable, negotiable securities, and cancelled checks.
Examine the inventory to ensure that the journal and ledger entries are correct.
Use knowledge of interest and discount rates, annuities, stock and bond valuation, and amortisation valuation of depletable assets to assess taxpayer finances in order to determine tax liability.
Prepare detailed reports on the findings of the audit.
Collect and evaluate data to find out whether there are any controls that aren't working properly.
