Overview:
Sociology is the study of human relationships, social behaviour and the society, including its origins, development, organization, networks and institutions. Sociologists observe everyday life of groups, conduct large-scale surveys, and interpret historical documents to understand their effect on social behaviour. Sociologists specialise in political sociology, social policy or social research. Many sociology graduates also work or specialise in related careers like social work, human resources, Civil Services or journalism.
Career Path:
Most sociology jobs require a master’s degree or Ph.D. Strong analytical and numerical skills would be an advantage for students looking at research positions.
