Overview:
Career in sales allows one to work across almost any industry or domain. Sales representatives demonstrate a product or service, advice clients on the benefits of the product or service and travel to meet with current and prospective clients. Sales Managers are usually tasked with setting sales target, lead generation and closing sales deals. They either work alone or might have a team of sales executives or agents working for them.
Career Path:
Any Graduate can look at a career in Sales. In case of companies marketing technical products, candidates from the specific technical background might be given preference over other. For example, Pharmaceutical companies might prefer persons who have an undergraduate degree in Pharmacy. It is suggested to complete MBA program, in order to be considered for leadership roles. However, educational qualification might not be a constraint for persons who have considerable experience as sales representatives in certain industries.
