Overview:
An occupational therapist (OT) is responsible for providing medical help and rehabilitation to individuals suffering from functional disabilities that prevent them from leading fully functional and healthy, independent lives, in the workplace and/or at home. These patients’ disabilities generally stem from physical or mental illness, aging, developmental problems or emotional problems. OTs often work with people with mental health problems, disabilities, injuries, or impairments. They work with people of all ages starting from kids to older adults. They help these patients recover or improve, as well as maintain the skills needed for daily living and working.
