Job Responsibilities:

Execute engineering activities in planning and designing tools, engines and other mechanically functioning equipment.
Develop, test and evaluate designs.
Discuss and solve complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers.
Deciding on most appropriate materials for components production and improvement along with cost estimation.
Improve production processes - such as those in large oil refineries, or services within buildings
Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety and reliability
Plan and design new production processes
Work with other professionals, within and outside the engineering sector

Work Life:

On a daily basis, a mechanical engineer will interpret or read computer generated reports, technical drawings, blueprints etc.
The work is mainly office-based with regular visits to plants, factories, workshops or building sites.
Workload can change as a project advances or encounters obstacles.
A lot of your work week is going to be spent at a computer or desk, designing
