Overview:
A lawyer is a professional who practices law. Their main duty is to support and guide their client in legal issues with their professional knowledge. They are expected to uphold the law at all times, even when they are trying to protect their client. He/she may provide legal assistance, consult on legal matters, represent clients at court, conduct research or work on legal documents. Lawyers can choose to pursue civil, corporate or criminal law. Civil law regulates how non-criminal disputes between individuals and/or companies are resolved. Corporate law governs the creation and functioning of businesses, organizations, and companies. Criminal law deals with defining and regulating criminal activities that threaten, harm, or endanger people or property.
