Overview:
Instructional designers create blueprints for training courses for corporations, designs e-learning courses and develops learning tools for educational institutions. They work in schools to help design curriculum or training materials for teachers as well as assist in stream-lining classroom procedures (including the introduction of technology in education). Instructional design uses different skills like writing, graphics, UX, collaboration, project management, plus knowledge on how people learn in order to make e-learning effective. They focus on making learning an engaging affair and try to convey concepts in a simple manner
Career Path:
Persons from any educational background can opt for a career in Instructional Design. They would have to complete an appropriate Master degree (or) certificate course in Instructional Design. Many Instructional designers are former teachers or corporate trainers who have an interest in e-learning and storyboarding.
