Overview:
Food technology is a branch of science which deals with the preservation and processing of raw materials and converting them to edible food products. Food technologists are responsible for the efficient and safe development and manufacture of food processes and products. Food technologists research, develop and improve food and drink products. They help in developing ways to preserve food, suggest ways to improve storage and quality, design processing systems and test products or recipes for nutritional value. Some of the instances where food technology is used are frozen food, canned food, snacks, and aerated drinks, cereal packaging and ready to eat meals.
