Job Responsibilities:

Underground cable can be laid directly in trenches or strung through conduit that runs through the trenches.
Pull cable from big truck-mounted reels by hand.
By twisting ends together or attaching ends with metal clamps and soldering connections, clean, tin, and splice corresponding conductors.
Wire conductors and cables are strung between poles, towers, ditches, pylons, and structures, with lines fixed in place and tension adjusted with winches.
Cover conductors and junctions with insulating or fireproofing materials.
Augers are used to dig holes, while cranes and power equipment are used to put poles.
Before mounting poles, attach cross-arms, insulators, and auxiliary equipment.
